Boston Ski + Tennis Announces Partnership with Skichair

Boston Ski + Tennis has significantly grown its Seasonal Leasing business over the years to meet our customers’ interest in trying and enjoying winter’s best and most family-friendly sports of skiing and snowboarding. However, that has led to a new challenge as time goes on. What to do with the skis and snowboards that have served their purpose of providing winter fun and are ready to be retired? We hate the idea of filling landfills with very complicated skis. That goes against all our BST Family stands for! 

So we are super proud to announce a partnership with another local business, Skichair! We share the same goal, keeping sporting equipment out of landfills so that our children will have better places to play and enjoy the environment. Guess what they started out making? You got it! Chairs made from recycled skis. Adirondack chairs to be exact. Today, they are much broader artists and recyclers using wakeboards, golf clubs and more to create all kinds of art, gifts and of course furniture.

We’ve attached a few pictures of the first benches that Skichair made for us from our own retired skis. There is also one bench in each store for you to check out. 

Shortly, we will be delivering pallets of retired skis to Skichair from our warehouse that has been holding these retirees. And we are super excited to ship more over the coming months and years to come. Of course, for our partnership to be successful and grow, we do need Skichair to be even more successful selling their art.
